Friday 5th November

Today’s lesson we will discuss last weeks homework.

You will be then split into groups of 3 and asked to create a powerpoint presentation on a Physical aspect of Fitness, your group will present your findings next week.

It should include

  • An introduction to fitness.
  • Explain your physical aspect of fitness, definition, description.
  • Describe a test to measure the physical fitness.
  • How you would train to improve this area of fitness? Relate to Principles of training.
  • What activities require this fitness?
  • Describe an athlete who excels in this fitness.

Friday 27th November

Today’s lesson will start as normal discussing last weeks homework sheet.

We will then be learning all about the effects of exercise on the body. We will be focusing on the short term and long term effects of training.

Homework for Tuesday is to be completed on the blog, by replying to this post.

  • I want you to choose a training method and explain the short term and long term effects on the body.

(This may take some time to complete so I suggest completing it on word and when finished cut and paste your answer onto a reply.)

Today’s lesson we will discuss last weeks homework and also the Harvard Step Test that we completed on Thursday.

We will then be looking at the Cardiovascuar System and how we can improve our cardiovascular fitness.

Homework for next week is Homework sheet 13, for Tuesday 25th November.

Hi all,

Your first task is to make sure you have completed last weeks homework task for a warm up, see below.

Today’s task and homework is to use the internet or your class notes and research a valid test used to measure a physical fitness? You can choose any physical fitness you please.

Describe the test in detail, why you would do the test (what is the purpose of the test?) and how you would train to improve your score.

Friday 7th November.

Today’s lesson we will be discussing the Activities Test from last week.

Homework for Tuesday 11th is to explain why it is important to have a warm up (hint:3 P’s).
Also to devise a warm up for a sport of your choice – not basketball or badminton. Please indicate and explain any exercise or movements in detail and how long each stage should performed.

End of Unit Test – Activities

Halloween (Friday 31st October) will be celebrated with a test on Activities.

I advise you to study the following resources

  • the blog and wiki (which has powerpoints etc on it)
  • your class folder (the blue ‘activities’ sheets and all the homework sheets you completed)
  • your standard grade PE text book (pages 18 – 36)

I will be checking the blog everyday this week so if you have any questions, post a reply to this post and I will answer it asap.
